PARCS is working parallel with the City of DuPont, and in alignment with the Parks Master Plan, and has a current memorandum of understanding outlining the terms of the relationship and our process moving forward.
P.A.R.C.S. - DuPont is incorporated solely for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, under section 501(c)(3) purposes of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
With the help of the City of DuPont, the Conn family and Swim DuPont, and social media, the Executive Board got to work recruiting, strategic planning, and seeking out grants to help PARCS fulfill its mission.
P.A.R.C.S.-DuPont is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in the City of DuPont, Washington. PARCS incorporated in 2017 to work collaboratively with the City of DuPont to bring additional recreational facilities, programs, and events to the area.

The purpose of PARCS-DuPont, “PARCS,” is to bring families together through parks & recreation. We serve children and adults of all ages, and abilities, in the City of DuPont and surrounding communities by creating strategic partnerships aligning recreation, parks, and community services.
a. Works in collaboration with the City of DuPont, and other community partners, to raise funds in support of recreational facilities, programming, events, and activities that serve community members of all ages, abilities, and interests.
b. Sponsors, hosts, and participates in events and activities that promote recreation, community service projects, inclusion, healthy lifestyles, increased participation at park events and funds raised, park user-ship and safety, and activities for social and civic engagement.
c. Is committed to increasing community stewardship to address the needs of the community including advocating for:
i. increased park funding and basic playground maintenance
ii. restoration and revitalization that focuses on historical value and design
iii. the expansion and maintenance of trails and pathways
iv. additional programming for the under-served in our community
v. strategic planning to increase the number of sports and recreational facilities and equipment available for public use
d. Desires to create strong partnerships with elected officials, city agencies, local institutions, businesses, and the leadership of surrounding areas to help work toward the shared goal of caring for parks and recreation while bringing communities and families together through shared experiences.
e. Accepts and administers donations, gifts, and bequests to serve as a resource for individuals and groups working to enhance the parks, trails, and recreational programs of DuPont and the surrounding communities. PARCS is also committed to providing scholarships that ensure all families have equal access to sports and recreation, educational programs, and activities.
The resources of P.A.R.C.S. - DuPont are not intended to replace or substitute revenues generated for the annual ongoing maintenance activities for the City of DuPont’s Parks and Recreation program or the Parks and Recreation Agency. P.A.R.C.S. – DuPont operates independently of the City of DuPont.
